Ever since it opened a few weeks back, we have been planning a visit to the newest Chinese Restaurant in Kamloops, Moon Wok. We even made a trip earlier in the week to pick up a menu to see if it was worthy of a visit. After reviewing their take-out menu, we even decided on our picks and headed out to the restaurant for what we had hoped for a very good Chinese meal. After all, they claim on their take-out menu to be the #1 choice for Chinese Cuisine so I really wanted to check it out for myself.
However on arrival, we ended up leaving the Moon Wok because they did not have a toddler high chair for your youngest daughter. This is the third restaurant so far in Kamloops that we have encountered to have no high chairs available for their younger customers.
Their tagline is Our Wok is your Wok but on this day, it was not going to be my family’s wok. If you don’t have a high chair, I won’t be eating at your restaurant, period. I can understand for a restaurant like the Commodore Grande Cafe Downtown to not have high chairs but this is not an adults only establishment. Unfortunately, until my youngest no longer requires a high chair, I won’t be back!!

I am the owner of Moon Wok Chinese Restaurant. Like all business owners we like to Google our restaurant and read the many reviews. After reading your review it was with great regret that we were unable to accommodate your family that evening. We are a family restaurant and you are absolutely correct highchairs are standard. With the stresses of opening a new business and moving our family to Kamloops it was an oversight. Unfortunately, one that impacted your family. I am truly sorry for the inconvenience caused to your family. We do have high chairs and will be getting in coloring books and treats to help accommodate our younger diners. Your feedback is appreciated as I recognize it is vital for our continual improvement.
