City View Grill House

Kamloops, BC

This review is brought to you by the word UNEXPECTED!!  Our dining experience at the City View Grill House (Ramada Inn Kamloops) can be summed up by one word and it has to be unexpected.  We had an enjoyable meal from an Unexpected Place.  Also an unexpected pleasant surprise to us was the fact that kids eat free when an adult orders an entree so that meant, both our kids were able to eat for free tonight.  This is an on-going promotion valid every day for breakfast, lunch and dinner.  Sweet deal, if you ask us!!

As we have done many times in the past, we ordered the Calamari as an appetizer to share.  It not only contained the right ratio of rings to tentacles, the calamari was fried to perfection.  We thought the cucumber wasabi dressing was very tasty and refreshing.  Our main entrees were quite good too.  The Guinness BBQ Pork Loin had great flavour and was very juicy.  The Chicken and Chorizo Pasta Broil would have tasted even better if it had a little bit more garlic in it.

To sum up our review, we thought the City View Grill House served up a tasty meal, their prices were very reasonable, kids eat for free everyday, friendly service, but surprisingly, this restaurant had too many empty tables.  When was the last time that you walked into a restaurant with no one in it and decided to walk in?  Well, we did and the City View Grill House did not disappoint

UPDATED October 9, 2011: A reader reported that the free kids meals are no longer being offered. I am of course disappointed and I want my readers to know this before they head out there looking for their kids to eat free. Please check the ‘Kids Eat Free’ section for other choices in Kamloops.
