After a fun evening tobogganing to work up an appetite, we made a quick and easy call to Panago’s call centre to order our pizzas for dinner from their Summit Drive location. We ordered the medium size Chipotle Chicken Pizza (chipotle cilantro sauce, grilled chicken, roasted sweet corn seasoned with onion, red + green peppers, topped with cheddar + mozzarella.) and a small size Meatball Pizza (italian tomato sauce, meatballs, mozzarella + cheddar.) from their frugal favourites menu.
Here’s what we thought about our pizzas.
The Crust Our choice was the Original hand-tossed crust for both pizzas. It was soft and light and not greasy at all. We liked the crust a lot as it was crispy and chewy just the way we like it.
The Cheese The mozza cheddar blend tasted great - no complaints here.
The Sauce No tomato based sauce on this pizza, instead they used a Chipotle cilantro sauce. It was delicious!! We asked for two chipotle cilantro dips to dunk our pizzas.
The Toppings Light-to-medium amount of toppings. I would have liked more!! The roasted sweet corn was so good. Panago got the topping combinations right on this pizza.
4. Almost Perfection. Very Good Pizza.
I ate four slices of the Chipotle Chicken Pizza and would have eaten more if not for a New Year’s resolution of mine to eat in moderation. The only complaint I have is that the size of the pizza was small for a medium pizza. Next time, I’m just going to order a large pizza!!
What about the meatball pizza, you ask? It tasted good, I liked the texture of the meatballs but my wife thought it was too mushy. The kids liked it but next time, we will stick to the pepperoni pizza for them because I think they prefer it better.
