Dorian’s Greek House

It’s been over three years since we have last eaten at Dorian’s Greek House so we ventured out to Eat Greek Tonight

I’ve never really eaten much Greek food so I am not an expert in Greek Food.  All I ever knew about it was that they have strange names and that their portions are huge.  We decided to share the Chicken Uvechi for an appetizer.  It tasted quite good, we especially liked the tomato sauce, onions and feta cheese combination. A search for Uvechi on Google yielded nothing so I am unsure if this is nothing more than a Kamloops invention. We enjoyed it nevertheless!

I love a good Roast Lamb and the Dorian’s version of it was succulent and mouthwatering.   The Chicken Souvlaki was grilled to perfection.   As for the Calamari, I have a few questions.  What happened to the tentacles?  Were they cut-off and tossed out?  Did the kitchen staff save these crispy morsels for themselves?  Whenever I order fried calamari, I feel cheated when the plate is just full of the rings.  In my humble opinion, the tentacles are the best part of the Calamari.  However, my partner loves rings exclusively and even without the tentacles, I still adored the deep fried Calamari served tonight. 

Along with rice, greek potatoes, greek salad and pita bread, you get a full meal here and the portions are quite big. 

There were no belly dancers and no plate breaking at this restaurant but based on the food alone, we went home full in our tummies and our garlic breath was strong enough to scare away a blood sucking vampire.
