Duffy’s Pub

Kamloops, BC

It’s NHL Playoff time again and now that I am a born-again Canucks fan, I wanted to show-off my new found knowledge about my new favourite team to my buddies so off I go to one of Kamloops most popular pubs - Duffy’s Pub.   My big plans got derailed a little bit when I found out on arrival at Duffy’s that my Canucks were not playing tonight, so instead… I cheered for the Habs to lose!!  I guess, I am still a Habs hating die-hard Maple Leafs fan to the end!!

It’s been a very long time since I last ate and drank at Duffy’s Pub.  It was always packed with thirsty and hungry pub patrons but I never did recall the quality of their pub food as in my younger days, I was more interested in their liquid offerings then.  But times have changed obviously - it’s not about the alcohol anymore, it’s about the service, food selection and atmosphere.  Clearly, Duffy’s Pub delivers on all those counts and their popularity is evident by the mass number of customers present on a night even when the Canucks were not the feature presentation on TV.

As for the quality and taste of their food, it was not bad, but nothing special and nothing fantastic about it either.  We still had fun watching Boston win over the Habs and enjoyed hanging out having a few beers with friends.  So if you are looking for a great place to kick back with friends in an unpretentious and friendly pub, consider going out to Duffy’s Pub.
