McCracken Station Pub

Kamloops, BC

Another pub night and this time around, we got together at McCracken Station Pub in Valleyview.  Yes, they have since reopened with a new menu and a list of daily specials.

Today happened to be Thursday Wing Night, a pound of Chicken Wings served for only $4.50.  Those of us who ordered the humungous Chicken Wings were very pleased as it was full of flavor and crunchy.  The Beef Dip and the Fish and Chips also received favourable reviews from my fellow foodies.  But as for the burgers, they were mediocre at best.  My chicken burger was over-cooked and under seasoned.  Those who had the beef burgers had issues with its flavor and texture and one person stopped eating his Station Burger after just one bite.  One of my friends summed it up best by saying that “there’s something quite not right about the burger”.  So avoid the burgers and order more Chicken Wings!!

McCrackens was an adequate venue for socializing with friends over a few drinks but when it comes to their food, it is not worthy of any special mention.   It is not what I would consider a Gastropub.   There are so many other pubs in Kamloops to check out so next time we have another pub night, we will likely take our money and appetite elsewhere.
